Cyst Cover Shoot

We wanted to type up our ideas / thoughts for the shoot after the last meeting + figure out which ideas to go with!
We think for the main cover image, we would love to do a full - body portrait shot of the two of us, holding Echo, in a miserable, very English-looking urban park. There would be something physically irritating happening (kind of a slapstick element), almost as if we are having a stressful fucked up day. We think these two of your photos are amazing references for the energy of this! We should light it Sasha-style, with your trademark super bright outdoor lighting.
There are a lot of 90’s hip-hop album artworks + press photos that show the artist in their natural environment or neighbourhood, sometimes with surreal flash lighting. We would like to hint towards this, but instead of looking tough or cool, we look almost incompetent. The photo would be a chaotic combination of a posed family portrait, and a failed rap duo portrait.The styling would imply we woke up attempting to wear cool clothes but then the day unfolded and everything went wrong. Echo could be in a bunny-ear hat.
*Cursed reference, but this is a picture of Die Antwoord in the early 2000s before they became famous / evil lol. It’s kind of swaggy.

Styling:
Sort of ugly + ‘’’chavvy’’’ - kind of like someone from England with low taste in 2007 would wear as a flex. Hoodie has super muted colours and will add some colour to the dull scenery without being too over-saturated/bright. I was thinking kind of like my version of this... it’s a very cursed British swag haha.
Need to add specfic pics, but most likely a grey / baggy sweatpants and hoodie or a vest. Kind of like the clothes you would wear leaving the house to go to the shop, but with nicer oversized shape.

Actions:
For the ‘scenario’ or action of the photo, here are some different assorted ideas:
* Overflowing shopping bags
* Trying to hold the baby while also holding too much other stuff
* The baby trying to grab something
* Taxidermy rabbit (on lead?)
* Music equipment (microphone, cables?) overflowing from bag that also contains boring stuff like toilet roll
* Mid-tripping over while holding baby
* Something exploded/pouring out - i.e milk carton, chips

The general area around our studio is really urban/industrial.
It’s very off the beaten track, so we could do something here without any people around.
East Street is the crazy main street by our studio. It is very run-down and full of a lot of crazy characters and weird fucked up shops. It might be a little too busy/hectic for a consistent set-up, but maybe it could work for something improvisational.

It would be cool & easy to just do some improvisational shots for the press pics around decayed urban areas with some cool lighting & alternative outfits. We could try the water/rain idea, or have the taxidermy bunny shot multiple times and repeated so it looks like there’s more than one.
Window Idea:
Our friends moved into a new house recently and it’s totally unfurnished inside. Maybe it could be kind of an interesting weird interior to shoot? The windows aren’t very big but maybe it could still work with the voyeuristic idea (we would just need a ladder.) Here is a creepy Google Street View pic of their windows.
Other:
We have been thinking and we’re wondering if maybe the phosphorescent idea might be a little too bright/neon for the colour palette we’d love to lean towards. For our solo work, we often have elements of fantasy and strange colour or glowing things - but for Cyst, we want to distinguish it by avoiding stuff that feels ethereal or overly magic. We think the idea is sick but maybe for this project it doesn’t feel like a perfect fit. I think we already have so many sick ideas together, and would love to focus on the above ones so we can execute them with as much focus + swag as possible! >:]

This might not be super useful, but here is a moodboard for general Cyst stuff. The graphic design and physical packaging etc will likely be similar to these colours and motifs. It’s all very dirty beige with scribbly tags.
